Didn't Koussevitsky write the first concerto for double bass in 1905? I'm beginning to doubt myself. the internet isn't helping me. If only I had my own copy of Baker's.

Well, it's easier to criticize someone else's post...Uh, give me a little while. I drank a little too much Bourbon or something.

I think Frank Zappa and Stanley Jordan on guitar...on bass? Billy Sheenan or Jaco Pastorious...or some obscure fretless player hitting the cello hard in jazz clubs...I don't know...I just don't know enough bass players...I thought Entwistle was awesome.

clapton is a by the books bluesman. he didn't offer much beyond what he took from other electric bluesman before him like muddy waters, buddy guy, bb king and the list goes on and on. there's a valid reason why clapton thought his career was over when he saw the hendrix footage from the montery pop festival in '68.

No, Roivas. It was probably Giovanni Bottesini (1823 - 1889).

and on the guitar the most influential are probly those men liek hendrix and even possibly cobain with his ugly nasty anti soloing delight, though nto a particulalry skille dguitarists cobians influence is undniable in modern rock. But hten again this might be teh .7 g's of mad herb and huricane 22's i had a little bit ago
