The Jesus Lizard

These guys are one of my favorite alternative groups of all time, tell me what you think if you've ever heard of them.

What's your favorite?
I think "Down" is pretty great.
Woefully underrated band!
Good urgent meat and potatoes rock.
I guess when the live album on Giant Records tanked (the awesome 'Jesus Lizard Show')
labels just stopped putting ANY effort into marketing them. On one hand it seems a shame, on the other, who cares? They ROCKED!
I once described them on a message board that doesn't love me anymore.
"Tear your head off, set in on fire and put it in a clothes dryer" That still seems to work pretty well for me.

Aside from the sheer energy of it, Yow's lyrics have fascinated me since his Scratch Acid days.
You hear stories of these guys who would be psychopaths if they didn't have an artistic outlet.
I hope Yow has found another outlet cause I suspect he's one of those guys.

Raw Energy up the ying yang!

By the way, Yow and Sims were BOTH in scratch acid and EVERYTHING Scratch Acid ever recorded just came out on one easy to destroy CD!!
Highly recomendulated for Jesus Lizard fans.

That's weird, I was just listening to those guys on Amazon today, my favorite song by them is probably A Skull of a German.

I loved those guys!
actually the last EP they did 'Beserker' sounds like Jesus Lizard pretty much.
Earlier stuff a little harder to peg.

I like "Crazy Dan", the tale of a pyromaniac with a 'sizzled spouse'

If you're married to an unbalanced man, you'd best not ask for a light:
