Two shows on the same night: what to do, what to do...
Alright, December first in LA, two great shows:
Sondre Lerche at the Troubadour (my favorite venue) with The Golden Republic
or:
Pinback at the Avalon (never been) with The Album Leaf (can I get a hell yeah?) and the Advantage
It's a tough choice for me, Sondre Lerche is probably my favorite songwriter right now but the chance to see Pinback and The Album Leaf at the same event is WAY to great to ignore. Comments anyone?

I think there can be no other possibility than to go to PINBACK! They're probably one of my favourite bands of the moment and I haven't seen them live myself, AAARGH!

fair enough, haven't heard that much of Lerche either, what I heard was good though... but I'm rather crazy about Pinback... Lerche is I guess a bit more traditional, maybe...

Pinback and The Album Leaf?
Is there really even any need for a poll? Go to the Pinback show.
They played in Vancouver last night, but I've been shit broke as of late and couldn't afford to go. :/

yeah, It's the album leaf that breaks the tie for me. I also just found out that Sondre Lerche is doing another show on the second... sometimes things just work out.

I've never heard of Pinback, so I'd say Sondre Lerche. But it sounds like you've made up your mind, so enjoy.
Meanwhile, I've got to check out these other guys.

hmmm... If you're going to do some exploring, Listen to Pinback's "This is a Pinback CD" and the single "Tripoli". Try to get your hands on a live version of "Tripoli" too, it's fun to compare. I think Lerche's "Two way monologue" is one of the best albums of the year, so it's all good. Album Leaf's "Thule" is the standout on "In a Safe Place", but both Album Leaf albums I've heard are very very good.
