Question A lil insight - merci beacoup (in the rght board!!)

Hello All

The following may sound sort of weak, but pls bear with me!!

I am a budding songwriter who cannot write music, (well, I can to a degree, but do not own a keyboard).
The melodies to my words currently reside in my cranium.
I cannot sing a’lick (although I have some MC skills)!

Yet, through all of this I want to get my lyrics heard by A&R, publishers, artists – whatever!!

I believe labels are reluctant to listen to unsolicited music and even more unwilling to just read words!!!! (lyrics) - (pls correct me if I’m wrong).

Does anyone have any advice on submitting lyrics/earning a publishing contract??
Any advice on good publishing companies – independent, major – small, big?
Any advice on approaching artists?

I have written pop and rock songs plus ballads – I have a good amount of r’n’b writings – but my heart and stongest work is within the alternative soul music, broken beats, neo-soul etc, genres. (Male, female and group songs, plus duets).
I believe my lyrics are decent – but so do most writers!! – and believe they could work well with new or established artists.

Any tips in getting myself ‘out there’ would be much appreciated.

MiC
