Schoenberg's pretty distinctive... as well as John Cage... to some people's chagrin. Arvo Part also uses a harmonic style that sticks out over others.

I have an easier time distinguishing the historical period rather than the composer. If I hear a piece on the radio, I can usually pinpoint the period, but usually choke on the name of the composer. There's just too darn many pieces out there!!!!!
