Gotta agree with the sentiment that it's the best release of the year.

I used to like U2 back in the day of "The Joshua Tree" but really haven't listened to them much since then, other than the random songs I've heard here and there. From reading what you all have posted about this new album, I'm anxious to hear it now.

If you like The Joshua Tree, I think you'll like this one as well. In a way, it combines the songwriting excellence of The Joshua Tree with the production excellence of The Unforgettable Fire and a smattering of the best production and arrangement values from all the albums since then.

iagree, then disagree. "Vertigo" is definitely the best single off the album [especially for lead single], but its certainly not the worst song on the album. really that sentence is almost a direct contradiction- it isnt necessarily, but think about it, now many albums do you know that you can say this? "Vertigo" is great track, a powerhouse musically with great lyrics when you actually get down to deciphering them.

iwont describe any track as "the worst", but the least great would hav to be "Original Of The Species". it kinda had it coming with that clever but awkward title. its juste too all over and nowhere at the same time and it struggles to find its melody the whole way through, never really gettin there. the Beatlesesque horns and "didit, didit, didit" refrain are a bit over the top as well.

My favorite song on the CD is Love and Peace or Else.
