I just got an Ipod (40 gig kind) for my birthday on the 5th, so I don't think christmas will be all too exciting for me. I really want the Napoleon Dynamite DVD though.

another set of gifts that i'd really like to get this year is socks and underwear

you hate getting it when you live at home but that stuff becomes gold when you're first living on your own

Yep, reminds me of when I first moved out on my own and discovered instead of getting excited over clothing or album sales, I got excited over toilet paper and bath soap being on sale.

And of course now that I'm really old, I have things like the Swiffer dust mop/vacuum on my list of things I want. The best Christmas gift I got last year was a new refrigerator from my husband.

As far as regular price CDs go, I buy them all year round. But on Christmas, I like to get something expensive that I'd normally not spend the money for...so this year, it's definitely The Beatles' Capitol Albums Vol. 1.

I know exactly how you feel. Here's a typical grocery shopping trip for me:
"Hmm, that looks good, and easy to make, where's the store brand version?"

As for music related gifts, it would be an enormous list, but I think I may get my hands on a few King Crimson and Chicago albums as presents for myself since I'll probably be getting help with tuition for Christmas from mom and dad

I'm set with recreational gifts for the next 2 years since I bought Halo2 a month ago.
Music wise.... maybe a mini ipod? mmMMMmmm ipod....

I'm going to set up a thread for "3 Albums I should buy for xmas" so that maybe I could get a bunch of ideas for what kind of new music I should purchase.
