Chinese Democracy - Guns n' Roses
Who here thinks that this album will ever be released by Axl Rose?
Are any Guns n Roses fans waiting with anticipation, or perhaps dread?
Brian May did some guitar work on the album, although I'm not a fan of his. Is there any news on a release anytime soon or will China really have become a fully fledged democratic country before the album is released?
I like Guns n' Roses' major hits, and it is interresting to hear of the 'new' project.
Your thoughts please.

ever think of the irony of the name? maybe there is no chinese democracy and this whole this is axl rose screwing with the few fans he has left..ha ha
welp... I think the longer he waits the harder it will be to get any sort of success... after like 10 years it would hafta we a Sgt Peppers to meet the hype and wait of this album.

that's pretty much it. i DO think he has/had an album in the works but things got messed up and the corporate hype machine took over. i remember reading about a solo project axl was working on near the end of the recording sessions for the illusion albums, an whole album more of the style of 'my world'. which coincidentally sounded a whole lot like the first nine inch nails album. and once pretty hate machine hit the streets a few months before axl's album would be ready he shelved it for fear of being labelled as a copy-cat / band wagon jumper.

Perhaps 'Chinese Democracy' is going to come out this year after all. Time will tell. Will anyone here be looking forward to it if and when it does?

um, ithink yure a little confused on that one. Guns N Roses hadnt even begun recording Use Your Illusion I & II till late 1990, long after the release of NIN's Pretty Hate Machine in 1989.

I'm dreading "Chinese Democracy" and I indeed agree that China has become much more democratic since Axl came up with the idea.
As for "My World," I think it's a terrible song that it is one of the major shortcomings of the Use Your Illsuions. (in my opinion, the other short comings are "Live and Let Die", "Don't Cry Alt. Lyrics" and the tom roll at the end of "Coma" [I really like "Coma", but I think the ending drum fill totally killed it]).
And after seeing how little I like Audioslave, I don't really want to give Velvet Revolver a try. (does anybody here suggest for me to listen to them?..cause I wouldn't mind that much). Anyways, I don't want another super-group, but I also don't want to submit myself to Axl's untamed, industrial-tinged musical ideals...so I'll listen to the olde stuff and if I feel like some industrial, maybe I'll invest in some NIN, but not "Chinese Democracy."

Funny. I was just CD shopping here in Kathmandu - where a CD costs two bucks, though it's pressed - and ACTUALLY FOUND 'CHINESE DEMOCRACY'! I'm not shittin' ya! Just the same, it was actually a collection of old GnR put together and pressed by the shop owner. But he was funny enough to have titled his personal GnR 'best of' 'Chinese Democracy'.
Now, that's a funny face.
