I saw the new Guns N Roses when they toured the UK in 2002. Not a bad gig, the new lineup has certainly been well picked. I mean theirs Axl obviously but then Tommy Stinson (Replacements legend), Robin Finck (Nine Inch Nails), Richard Fortus (Psychadelic Furs) and so on... very tight band with great stage presence.

Im glad they got rid of that guy Buckethead. He might be talented but he has little stage presence, his style is not suited to GNR, and (I know this shouldn't matter but...) his image is shit.

Anyone agree that Velvet Revolver are just crap? The album was rushed and everyone raved about it being fantastic simply because it was GNR minus Axl. Im glad Izzy Stradlin didn't get involved with the band. Izzy is the only true rocker left from what was once 'the most dangerous band in the world'. He knows it isn't about the videos, promotion, bitchy stories sold to MTV... its just about the music

Well, as of yesterday (Monday 23 November 2008), Guns n' Roses mythical, 15-year-in-the-making new album, Chinses Democracy, is finally here in the UK, I'm very glad to say.

For those that have bought it, what do you think of it?

Does it live up to expectations? The reviews seem to be on the whole positive, and relieved that it is finally here.

The discussion of Axl's SMiLE has been happening at the end of this thread.

I'm glad for the bump, just the same as it reminded me of this post:

Now, that's a funny face.

I had forgotten about that. Even the 'Now, that's a funny face' line. It comes from a shop owner who quoted my buddy 800 or so Nepali rupees for a wall hanging, to which my buddy replied 'I'll give you a 1000 for two.' The shop owner, with little expression and not even a giggle responded with 'Now, that's a funny face.'

Hysterical. Had to be there, I s'pose.

Haven't heard it yet. However should it happen to not disappoint me, I'm gonna make one funny face.
