At the moment I'm listening to one of my biggest influences.....Lustmord - Heresy

I definitely have to agree the Oophoi set is great although I prefer my ambient a bit darker than that.

What I've heard of Beyond I must say was quite good. All I've heard at the moment are extracts though. I noted he tends toward extremely long compositions. Is there much variation in each individual track?

not really, but after a few listens i have come to the conclusion that it is very good, but VERY minimal stuff. the song void is his best imo. i was supposed to trade for his new mCD but i suppose i waited too long, oh well, i hear that had more variation, and noise too.

I need to actually get my hands on his stuff. Hopefully I will be able to do so soon. I noted the excerpts I heard were a little noisier but tastefully done. He uses noise similar to how I do. The main thing is not letting it become so abrasive it eats away at the atmosphere of the piece you're working on. From what little I've heard he seems quite good at it. How long are the compositions on the CD you have?

At the moment I'm listening to Column One - THX-1138.

they aren't terribly long, average for dark ambient, 10-20 minutes i believe.

I have been meaning to pick that up. What do you think of it, and how does it compare to his Lycia recordings?
