I think Four Tet is very cool, does anyone have their split with Hella? What do you think of it?

can't say ive ever thought of Daedalus when listening to Four Tet..but that's quite interesting. i always had thought noone really compared to Daedalus' off the wall combinations, but i guess i could see an influence there.

as for Rounds, i haven't listened to it for 5 months. i don't recall ever getting heavily into it, but there are severals records that need more of my attention..i'll give it another listen.

a reviewer calls it krautronica instead of the folktronica from Rounds, saying that Manitoba/Caribou has made the same evolution... I certainly want to hear it...

well, i believe Dan Snaith is different than Kieren Hebden completely, but that's just my opinion. With Dan's first album 'start breaking my heart', he broke out with an indie type style, but was heavily influenced with IDM type programming. From there is when he completely changed his style to what it is right now. Hebden (straight out of the group Fridge) produced Pause and it was somewhat unique because it had a sound that wasn't relatively heard among most electronic listeners. Perhaps because it was embraced by the electronic listeners and the independent label listeners.

I'm just rambling. I think it's fine to put both the artists together when collectively talking about the genre/subgenre, but comparing the two just seems wrong.

Don't mind me, i'm crazy.

well, i like 'start breaking my heart' because of it's electronic sound, but many praised his 'up in flames' album to be his best. I tend to like the new one pretty well as well. But I must say, the sound between the 2 I mentioned up above is varied, so don't expect the same from both. Same goes if you were to check out Dykehouse's album on planet mu called 'dynamic obsolescence'. It has a heavy idm/electronic influence, and then his 'midrange' album on ghostly international has an indie/pop type sensibility with lots of vocals.
