Question Big Help Needed Guys!!!

hey, im starting making plans to set up a small studio in my bedroom....
but i need some help, cuz im used to just playing drums...

my studio will hopefully include:

Keyboard
Live guitar
drum machine
sampler
vocals
FX units
Mixer
CD recorder

my problem is, how do i hook it all up... ???

the way i figure it is, all the instruments and units will plug into the back of the mixer?? which will then go on to the recorder..??

i need advice on whether or not i need to use , and if so, how to use:

EQ
Amps
Pre-amps
SPeakers
etc.

thanx a lot for all help.... i must sound so dumb

cheers

Hi,

keyboard, guitar, drum machine, sampler, vocal go into the mixer input, FX unit can be connected by plugging into the "aux", "FX loop" on the mixer or the "insert" on each track.
You can mix all the tracks there on the board and send the main out into the CD recorder.

EQ - is a dynamic effect that change the wave form of the signal. It's either on the mixer(depends on what kind of mixer you use) or a stand alone unit.

Amps - i guess you're talking about the power amp. it boost up the signal (from the mixer) with electircity so it runs the speaker.

Pre-amps - Mic pre-amps boost up the electric currents from the microphone into audio signal. depends on the type of mixer you use, most mixers should comes with mic pre-amp.

SPeakers - signal from poweramp and moves the cone in the speaker to reproduce the acustic energy.
