I've got his Rejoicing in the Hands album and I think it's great, it's sort of weird hippie folk with great acoustic guitar playing, high voice and nothing much else, quite lo-fi, though his first cd Oh Me, Oh My... was much lo-fi'er... Any other fans?

You can count me in! As far as I'm concerned, "Rejoicing in the Hands" is the album of the year so far, although I've not heard his latest yet. There's just something ridiculously addictive about his songs, despite the fact that he's singing utter nonsense most of the time.
"This Beard is for Siobhan", "This is the Way", and "Fall" are my faves, but there's not a duff track on there.

heard a song of hers on the radio some time ago and I was a bit put off by the voice...
but hey I like Sandy Dillon and Tom Waits, so normally that shouldn't be too much of a problem...

I bought that on the basis of everyone saying how good it was (never a good idea) and I thought it was... ok. It really came across as an exercise in satisfying his own vanity at times, at other times I liked it. It just felt to me like someone trying desperately hard to create his own niche and the music suffering because of it. It was like over the top lo-fi - a musical oxymoron.
