"Eroica" is Italian for "heroic." Puns are never funny.

They're all great, but the 9th is another thing altogether. It's the greatest Symphony ever composed. At least that is this Beethoven (It's good to be King) fanatic’s (which is on par with my Satchmo craze) not so subtle opinion.

The man was freaking deaf when he wrote it. It's one thing to be able to compose when you can hear what the hell your composing, but he was freaking deaf.

A great deal of composers haven't composed anything half as good with full hearing.

After the first performance, they had to turn him around, so that he could see the crowd going nuts.

When he started going deaf, he had the legs of his piano cut off and the piano placed on the floor. He would place his head on top of the piano, so that he could hear what music he could, and feel the vibrations.

The man was freaking deaf!

Did I mention that he had been going freaking deaf for about 15-20 years? He was composing one masterpiece after another, while going freaking deaf.

But then again, I love all of the symphonies.
