F--k money. I don't rap for dead presidents.
I'd rather see the president dead.
It's never been said,
but I set precedents and the standards
and they can't stand it. ...
We as Americans. Us as a citizen.
We've got to protect ourselves ..."

Ok,pal...this is way over the line. I don't care what your politics are. This is a very tacky thing to say.

Algernon, instead of following me and my threads and looking for any excuse to tarnish whatever online face I have on this forum, read my posts.
That verse was from an Eminem song in regard to the previous post.

Saying, "I hate Bush", is fine.. It's only when you say, "I intend to kill Bush" that you're going to get secret services knocking on your door.

I merely gave an example of Eminem crossing the line, "pal".
I'm tired of explaining my posts to you. Shoo Fly

The content of the post is juvenile and tacky, in my humble opinion and if it's from one of Mr Mather's ''songs" then it only furthers my opinion that he is a show business pimp preying on the immaturity of alienated fourteen-year olds with comic book minds.

well, "pal", there's also something like artistic freedom, Eminem likes to shock and he uses this shock effect to get his message across... anyway, I hope Bush won't win the elections, not that it would make much difference for non-American citizens, but it would at least be a little better... I recently saw an Argentinian video collage about the influence of the US foreign policy on Latin America from the sixties to the early nineties... It was very interesting... and sickening too...

just as I excercise my freedom to say that his "art" sucks, in my humble opinion. I have nothing against social protest in song---I'm a child of the sixties...but for goodness sakes do it with style. Compared to Pete Seeger, Bob Dylan, Marvin Gaye, Paul Simon and even P.F.Sloan this guy is a toilet stall scribbler.

hmmm... i made this comment in the rock version of this thread too but whatever.
has anyone else noticed the TIMING for this new 'controversy' i don't seem to remember hearing much of eminem for the last few years unless his name was mentionned in relation to 50 cent. he's had 4 years to make disparaging comments about the president and the current political administration.
i suppose it's just coincidence that he's got a new album coming out in about 2 weeks.

How has Eminem not done it with "style"?
Most everything the man has done with rap has been out of the ordinary.
Most knowledgable rap listeners would agree that Eminem is the best thing that happened to rap since Tupac and Biggie passed away.
With the exception of a few singles that aimed to the larger crowds, Eminem has always done his thing with a unique style.
Even the song that is posted on this thread has a its own beat and flow.
...and why is he a "toilet stall scribbler"?

Is drunk on life
|
"I'd rather see the president dead." is significantly different to "I'm going to kill the president".

I understand that, but, if you like it or not, swearing seems to me to be a part of what is hiphop and I often have problems with that and with the genre tout court, and this is probably why you don't like it...
