De La Soul, Black Eyed Peas, Blackalicious, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien?

but theres a lot of other shit you could get into i take it you don't want anything too 'gangster', right? dilated peoples, lootpack, krs-one, alkaholiks, organised konfusion...the list goes on. The problem is with hip-hop these days is that all the gems are hidden behind this whole 'hip-hop' *cough* rnb thing going on. You just got to dig deep. If you use IRC try #olschoolrap (no d) on EFnet, they're usually serving up loads of good older albums.

Gangsta is alright.

I just don't like r'n'b and shit like Eminem, Nelly or 50 cent etc.

It doesn't have to be American either. Just lately I've been getting into Aussie hip hop and I also like french stuff too.
