Why pay attention to anybody that stupid and ignorant? The Smiths and Morrissey are for those of us who "get it." To hell with those who don't!

I'm the one who tries to really get into the Smiths for some strange reasons, not only because I just like Morissey's vocal, Marr's music. I have had their 2nd "best of" for 6 years turning in the player always hoping starting to collect the other records, too. But I didn't know that I was in need to be headed to the right ones, i was mindless. I met some friends who (like me) enjoy to listen to 80s, new wave, post punk, indie, etc around and by their brilliant orientation I just purchased the Queen Is That, which has been turning in loops for a couple of weeks. Now I got some different point of views about their records through this thread. Meat is Murder, Strangeways.. are the initials of my wish list, definetely.
What as well makes the Smiths for me so special is the attitude at all, beyond their (definetely non-boring) music, the covers of the records are so artistic as well, the man on the Queen is Dead is Alain Delon himsels, or take the best of series, or the singles cover, all those give some great european feelings. I'd like to know your thoughts about the covers, start with 'who's that damn cool guy on the best of 2 and the ladies on the best of 1 and the singles, etc.' which is not indentified in the info, @least on the best of 2.
btw. Whatta great song is "the boy with thorn in his side", cannot get any boredom of it since years..

the accent of icelandic words falls in almost all cases on the first syllable. the exceptions are
1.words that have the negative prefix "ó-" meaning "un-" as in "unwilling" eg óhreinindi
2.words that have the prefix "all-" meaning "rather" or "very" eg allfeginn
in these two cases, the accent falls equally on the first two syllables or mainly on the second syllable.

if you want information on Smiths/Morrissey artwork [as well as complete discography information and more] goto www.passionsjustlikemine.com. its a wonderful site, maintained extremely well.
as far as my thoughts, well, like most, ilov The Smiths artwork. ialso lov much of Morrissey's solo artwork, though there are some real duds in there [i.e. Maladjusted].
id say my favourite Smiths album cover is likely the cover for Rank, their one and only official live album. for singles id say either "This Charming Man", the UK 7" reissue sleeve of "William, It Was Really Nothing", or "Shiela Take A Bow" take it for me.
for Morrissey, my favourite album cover is Your Arsenal. for singles, "Suedehead", "Everday Is Like Sunday", "We Hate It When Our Friends Become Successful", "You're The One For Me, Fatty", "Tomorrow", "The More You Ignore Me, The Closer I Get", "Roy's Keen", "Let Me Kiss You" and perhaps the greatest of all, the upcoming single release, "I Have Forgiven Jesus". sucha good looking man, that Morrissey.

Oliver Cromwell was the ruler in England after the trial and execution of King Charles I in 1649. he oversaw the abolishment of the Monarchy and the House of Lords in Britain and ruled as Lord Proctor until his death in 1658. shortly after his death Britain reverted back into Monarchial government.
the Cromwell reference of Morrissey's has been very confusing for some as one one hand he is condeming [and always has condemed] the Monarchy and on the other he is condeming the man who destroyed the Monarchy, something many think Morrissey would appreciate. ithink his point is that England or Ireland werent any better under Cromwell than it was under the King so spit on them all. idont know enough about the history to say whether iagree, but regardless ithink it works as a heartfelt revolution song.
and thanks- the avatar is from the Viva Hate sleeve [shot by Anton Corbijn].
