Helios 'Eingya' (June 2006)

&

RJ Valeo 'Behind the Shadow of the Moon' (May 2006)

Both on Type Records. (something leads me to believe the RJ Valeo has been pushed back because it's not even mentioned on the forthcoming releases like Helios's album has)

not sure David...it's just the cover of the new Helios album. It might be listed on the Type label site.

Thumbs up

the 2 upcoming titles on n5md are mind-blowing:

BITCRUSH - "in distance"
LOESS - "wind and water"

i simply can't get over the sheer depth, detail and
delivery of these two albums.. both completely separate
in sound yet both reaching a level of maturity and
personal reflection that it'll be hard to keep them both
out of my top-10 for 2006... bitcrush falls into a more
ulrich schnauss styled theme with whispering vocals, lots
of drenched out melancholic guitars and chorus lines that
send chills.. loess' new one, on the other hand, delivers
a softer punch... similar to arovane's 'atol scrap' with the
snappy beats and underlying basslines, every track rolls
off each other with continual growth and significance...

lovely.

also wanted to add TIM KOCH's new album "faena"
on merck.. there's a new direction with this one.. the
classic KOCH feel is still there, yet there are more
instrumentally intact pieces here and lots of heavier
basslines and VERY detailed rhythms that expand into
several directions, often at the same time.. yet it all
somehow flows.... there are a couple of female vocal
highlights, some low-rumbling stunners and a few
merck-style hip-hop moments.. but most of all "faena"
covers a lot of ground and doesn't let go for a minute.
