I can't remember where i got this link from, it might even have been here, so apologies in advance for the plaigarism

This Autechre transcript interview is quite informative I think, though 3 years old. We get a decent view on their philosophy of fame etc

it's cool. we're all geeks in some way, but we are of course all unique in our tastes and perspectives.

He makes a vague sentece about doing mushrooms once, like I might about doing whiskey. The amount of work autechre do on tracks, do you honestly think they could do that when THAT battered? It's not like picking up an acoustic guitar and strumming some chords or writing words down.

But more interestingly Autechre back up my "it has to be good music with....

"SB - It has to be something that you love, you know what I mean? No point in DNA sequences... It's kind of conceptually quite interesting but it might sound crap, and you know, if we thought it sounded crap then we wouldn't pursue it. We wouldn't say, "Well, like let's continue this project because it has to be a representation of a DNA sequence," because then you'd be sort of denying your own taste and I think taste is all that can define you in making something. "

Of course it's impossible to produce while HIGH. I do believe that they were inspired in some way though. At the end of the day it's a bit irrelevant I suppose, they're still great tracks

It's true they may have had ideas and when straight written tracks they knew they'd appreciate when high.

I've done that in the long sice past too.
