i can also tell you that Jason Nuestad (bad spelling im sure) former Metallica bassist is one of those people that will go insane if they do not make music.

I don't know whether you can stay sane after spending so much time with the other 3.

I think Autechre are probably 100% normal "on the outside".

streetcleaner, pure, godflesh and slavestate are brilliant. GODFLESH is one of the main reasons why I like music made with computers and synhts.

It is incorrect to assume that artists are influenced by drugs. I remember Josh wink's "Higher state of conciosuness" and totally believing that he must have experimented. But no.

Ae admitted that when they made Confield they did a lot of mushrooms that year.

Keef, even though you haven't smoked in a while, you know what it's like. Your brain remmebers the experience and any tracks you listened to leave an indelibele mark (at least it doe with me). No way would you create a track like VL AL 5 and think that it was good IF you hadn't experienced hallucinogens, would you??

dopamine, whether it comes from drugs or whether it is generated by the body...dopamine is what makes albums like confield by autechre or streetcleaner by godflesh.

It's difficult to say...

I'm not reminded of hallucinogens when I listen to it, but I don't have the frame of reference of never having had them to answer that.
