Talking Soundgarden - Superunknown

MAn i love this album...

so i had to do a review about it...

The first thing you notice about superunknown is... well... you notice many things, the near perfect production, the kick arse guitar work of kim thayil (especially on the songs let me drown and like suicide, awesome solos ), the powerful vocals of chris cornell, the awesome drums of matt cameron, and the beauty of such songs as head down and like suicide.

Well maybe i should mention that soundgarden is my favourite band, superunknown is my favourite album, and the perfection called Like Suicide is my all time favourite song. So maybe some of my ideas will be... biased.

But heres my review:

First of all lets have a look at a song of Ben Shepherd (bassist). His finest on this record is the haunting masterpiece head down. Now I'll admit the lyrics arent... the most interesting ever written, but they get their point across 'we hate you, you suck'. But that isnt the reason why its one of my favourite songs on the record, the reason is the wonderful guitar work, cornell's delivery and the general haunting, depressed, zombie-chasing-after-you feel to it. With this song we could almost forgive him for his song half.... almost...

Chris Cornell (or 'THE MAN!' if you prefer) is a legend. Blunt but true. His lyrics are awesome, his voice is powerful, his songs are cool... (but he cut his hair... and made audioslave... so he's not worship material ) His songs are my favourites on the record... like the opening track. The loud rocker of Let me Drown may not appeal to my mum because of the title (neither does Like Suicide) but heck i like it anyway! Infectious guitars, cool lyrics, cool bridge, cool solo... thats what the song is... cool, the definition of cool. Look up a dictionary the word cool and i can guarentee you will find some mention of this song there (note, do not try this). You may also see mention of My Wave, Spoon man and Superunknown.
Another classic song on Superunknown pretty much sums up grunge for me, Loud, heavy, angry, and some kind of anti-religion reference (even though im religious) this song is called 4th of July. Now i dont know what 4th of July is... im assuming its something important in America... but this song is my pissed off song... if i get mad at something, i go to my room, put on this song and turn it up... the whole song breathes pissed off, and so gets my tick of approval.
Now some people like Black Hole Sun... a lot, but ive heard it so many times the effect has worn off me... but I think i remember it to be a pretty good, simple, trippy, and cool (do not count how many times ive said cool in this review) It makes me think of some lonely guy sitting on a beach watching the sun set... or something soppy like that. Anyway.. good song
Like Suicide (thank you god for bringing this song to my ears) Well that little prayer pretty much summed up my thoughts of the song... pure... sad... bliss. All thats needed to be said.. next song...

damn i cant be fucked writing anymore... just get the freaking album

9.75/10

best songs...- Like Suicide, My Wave, The Day I tried to Live, Head down... fuck... the whole fucking album!

peace out!

Then grab onto it, it's just for you
Give a little squeeze and say, "How do you do?"

I must say Superunkown had great production but I just love Badmotorfinger to much
8.5/10 for Superunkown which broke this great band into the mainstream....
Badmotorfinger - 9.5/10

Samoan Joe's Barman: You want a pint, you go to the pub.
Bacon: I thought this was a pub!

Actually, I'd take Badmotorfinger, Louder Than Love and Ultramega OK over Superunknown.

But none of them have "Limo Wreck"
