Unhappy question about electric acoustic

Hey everyone,

I bought a Seagull S6+ Cedar acoustic/electric guitar this summer (real nice guitar) but if I want to play it "plugged," I HAVE to plug it directly into my guitar amp (I also have an ibanez electric). No sound comes out if I plug it into my Rolad effects box through to the amp, or if I plug it into a stereo receiver, though doing that works fine for my electric. What's the deal?? Is it something with the way electrics pick up sound whereas acoustics with electronics just have some sort of a mic (I'm guessing)? A 1/4" phono cable carries an analog signal, so what's the difference with how the sound is picked up?

I would look for a deffect. Take it to your local laravist.

What's a laravist? Someone who services guitars made by L'arrivee?
The weird thing is it does produce sound, it's just that it seems only my amp understands it...
