Most important tools of your trade if you do music is your ears. Therefore the second most important is what your music comes out of.

Yes they're good! There aren't many models out there that beat them.

really? i also enjoy how the noise is filtered out of the MDRV300's. what do you suggest to me for a better listening medium?

Well, as Keef mentioned, Sennheiser makes some of the best for under $1000. (I've read that in many places) BUT the reason why I took mine back is that they are open air - which means you can hear everything around you, and everyone else can hear your music.

If you need isolation like I do (no one at work wants to hear it) I suggets the Bose Triport as the best 'closed ear' headphones. I've used them for 6-7 hours a day for the past year and have no complaints. That's a rare thing for me.

There's also those "in-ear" headphones that look more like hearing aid really. I've heard they filter out everyting ( making it pretty dangerous to do anything but sit still hehe )

To make the final adhjustments for a track, I check it on my loudspeakers and on two different headphones sets (open and isolating).

I know that someday when I get real monitors and pro headphones, I will discover stuff on my tracks that I wasn't aware of.
