first condenser microphone dilemma!

hi

i'm about to get my first condenser mic and i really cant decide between these two (ok, i know i'm gonna get flamed for this... but budget's pretty tight!) the behringer b2 or the samson c03. please help me and please also suggest if there are actually better options in the same price range. thank you so much in advance!

ps/ all this while i've been recording with sm58, just upgrading my setup a little bit

Get a Rode NT1A. I'm assuming it's in the same price range but even if it's a few more dollars then it's worth it because it's a really good mic.

Obviously, as with any condenser mic you'll need a desk or preamp that can give 48v phantom power.

thanks keef. from where i'm at, the rode nt1a would be an extra aud$300 blowout or so in my current budget

anyway, i've since demo'd the c03, b2 and i also had the luxury of testing my school's rode nt1000, at home. result? i am definitely going for the b2 over the samson, after much A-B-ing, and an invitation of some vocalist friends to my place (i swear, the alcohol that nite did NOT affect our judgement on this )

the rode nt1000, as we ALL expected, IS better than both of these mics which i initially was after. but then my cheap-matress-padded, ikea-wall-curtained room ISNT exactly as professionally acoustically-treated as the The Hit Factory in Miami. and this mic captured exactly that! it was giving me industry-endorsed microphone sound but in the recordings it also showed an industry-nightmare recording studio! hh! anyway. we had a blast doing all this - and yeah, the behringer b2 it is for me in my diy studio.
