Funk Revivalists (Funk Luddites, lets say)

Its become so bleeding edge right now to like funk, or get into funk. Fine. Which funk revivalists do you dig? I like Galactic (because they were playing funk before it became hip again). Breakestra gets a nod, along with Quantic - who really brought out a nice mixture.

So nobody likes the funk revival, huh? Well you will! 6 Months from now you'll all be pretending about how you got broken in on Cissy Strut.

Galactic, Quantic Soul Orchestra, and Breakestra are three good starters. Then you need to delve into the more oldschool funk (JB's, Meters, All of James Browns backing band, brief stint in space funk/funkadelic, more). But the newer stuff that is rehashed oldschool funk is what this thread is about. Essentially they are taking the roots of the bizness, and instead of trying to mash it into some contemporary newschool bullshit watered down cliche, instead they are playing direct homage.
