Some electronic stuff is more accessible than others. I'd recommend pehaps getting 3 or 4 different styles/moods of album and take it from there. It depends though on if you like to dance or listen.
Boards of Canada - Geoggadi/ Music has the right to Children. ----Ambient hip-hop influenced which will most certainly remind you of your childhood in some way. There isn't much like this
Photek - Modus operandi -- made in 1997 this Drum and bass producer displays awesome attention to detail in his drum programming. The elements are simple, but the effect is sublime
Aphex Twin- Drukqs--- An eclectic mix of styles, some perhaps too much, this prodigy of electronica has influenced a whole new generation. This double album will keep you entertained
Nightmares on Wax -- Smoker's delight-- i've never met anyone who dislikes this. Trip hop ambience. Buy it and you'll see what i mean
Leftfield--Leftism-- This album marked a new generation of music production. There are some great tracks on here, some Dub, some house, sme techno
I'd also heavily recommend
www.bleep.com. You can buy high quality mp3 of many of the above artists tracks for 99p (60 cents). Before you even do that, you can listen to a sample. This is where I buy a lot of my music from
Welcome to Electronica
