Question Pop?!?!?!?!?

First of all I am not a fan of Pop music by any means...And if you like pop you might not want to read this...

Today I was Listining to the radio on a pretty decent station (60's 70's 80's 90's today type station) when all of the sudden the start playing pop music, being the person I am I was too lazy to walk the whole 5 feet to change the station... the song was about cheating guys and breaking up with them, ok 3 mins. later same shit cheating guys and breaking up with them...not the same song but just a song from the same Genre so then I decide to change the channel... next station; different song same genre same shit so my question is are all pop songs as shitty and repetitive as what i described? because I figured it would get old but i guess pop has not changed!?!

For all those people who say i should post this in the pop forum.... I am not brave enough to venture into their "realm"

Whats funny about that is that their last couple 'bad pp jingles' have been bad pop songs... JT with that I'm lovin' it song, and now Houston with 'I like that' (or something)... new marketing ploy for mcD's.... you get to hear their advertising on normal radio and MTV, not just in 30 second spots anymore....

Pop groups can't be original? Perhaps the genre needs to be redifined...or just clarified?

what would you consider pop?
britney spears, usher, nsync
or magnetic fields, apples in stereo, detachment kit, etc
