Hmm... everybody uses Kazaa lite. I only use Kazaa for video downloads. The best music p2p program (IMO) is definitely Bearshare.
I've been using it for years and I've found everything I ever searched for, including some very obscure files - OOP music, or music that hasn't even made it to CD yet. I've tried KazaaLite, Audio Galaxy, LimeWire, Blubster, WinMX, and Morpheus... some are better than others and some are downright irritating, but for all around ease of use, features, large user base and absence of spyware, Bearshare is at the top of the list.

Bearshare is only good for people with broadband...not like me!!! I found it way too slow for the good old 56k modem and the search's were small...it didn't stay connected either. This was all with a modem...not braodband.

Most definitely... there's no "speed-up" utility associated with Bearshare as there is with Kazaa Lite. Even still, completing video downloads with 56K (150-500Mb files) is like watching grass grow. Its soooo worth the extra 20-30 bucks a month for the added bandwidth, if it's within your means.

Kazaa Lite is better all-around.....the "auto seard more" option is heaven for people with broadband, like me....... today on kazaa lite i downloaded 211 mp3's in 40 minutes.

Heh! Here in Australia you're looking at paying an extra $50/month for broadband...it's really f*cked.

I don't think there are any because the people who run them are too likely to get sued. There are sites where you can download songs illegaly but it's not p2p.
