Yes, definately.

You should also get a spyware catcher like adaware which cleans out all the programs that kazaa installed from your system. Without it you can't delete them. You can get one from www.download.com.

I personally prefer Soulseek to other p2p programs. I absolutely loath kazaa, including kazaa lite. I hate how all the incomplete downloads are those crappy .dat files. Plus there's just too many users. Also, more obscure stuff is nearly impossible to get. Kazaa is only for more popular stuff, i'd say.

Soulseek is much smaller, so it's more community oriented. It's just as easy to find stuff, if you know where to look. You can also find obscure stuff. It's search feature isn't the best, but it still serves its purpose. The main problem with soulseek is you can only have your downloads running from one user, which is only really a problem if you're on broadband. Also, you can set a maximum number of uploads, so they can all get done in a reasonable amount of time, and your bandwidth isn't swamped.

Echoing Makab, once again, Slsk is the best p2p. DC++ is also really good, but only once you're sharing over 30 gigs of stuff. Most of the other ones suck, involve spyware, or what is worse, both.

I currently have only Soulseek, since the download of it is so small, but I prefer Kazaa(Lite). It's really hard for me to find anything on Soulseek, while on Kazaa, I get basically everything, including Yami no Matsuei episodes. I do like how you can stop the download whenever you want and keep the file (with slsk) though.

Well, I just recently discovered soulseek, and I have to echoe makab on this one too. Soulseek is awesome. It's so much better than Kazaa and WinMX and DC.

What is it better for?

I've used it only a little bit but I heard that it is only really good for electronic music.

Is this right?

It's really good for electronic music, and it's also pretty good for videos, too. Rock/Metal/Nu-Metal isn't that hard to find on any program, really, but t seems to be easier to find on here.

Slsk has a gigantic amount of Electronic stuff. It is way better for finding trance and industrial than any other p2p, save DC++.

I just can't see the fascination with electronic music. I mean, the whole enjoyment of listening to music for me is to here someone who is good on hid/her instruments. That's just my prefference I guess.
