Antics isa disappointment. it is to ...Bright Lights as Room On Fire is to Is This It?, but even duller somehow. iwas expecting a lot from Interpol and ididnt get very much at all- 10 tracks, none of them as gripping as the material from the debut and one of them a re-recording of an old b-side. really disappointing. Antics isnt bad, but its not anywhere near its predacessor or my expectations.

I really don't think they sound that much like Joy Division at all, I'm surprised people bring that up all the time. They're much more like The Chameleons to my ears, although their new album sounds a bit too cheery for either band. They're just an incredible band, who happen to be influenced by some great early '80s music.

It does bug me though, you get ONE band who do a bit of an early '80s gloom revival, and people get on their backs constantly. How many bands trot out the same old Beatles, Kinks and Zepellin riffs, without getting any comment? Feckin' millions!
