I'd have to say Albert Einstien.

I f by "fame " you mean "recognizeable" then Michael Jackson would probably be the one...he has gone to such pains to make himself stand out. But curiously, his musical "career" is in the toilet. So the most famous person alive is on a downhill slide. On another note, Jonas Salk could walk into any restaurant in town and nobody would recognize him. He only found a cure for polio. And anybody know Charley Townsend? He invented the laser. Never see him in People Magazine.

As far as musicians living today, I'd say either Michael Jackson or Paul McCartney.

I'd say George W. Bush. No one said you had to be liked to be famous.

What has she recorded?

I believe the thread specified that we should limit this to musicians of some sort or other, and we can't forget this gem!

No one's mentioned Madonna yet?

btw I'm not mentioning her... just asking if anyone else had. I have a no-mentioning madonna policy.
