still though, bjork is an idiot to call philip glass lazy. he's put out about 20 times as much music as she has
He's also quite a bit older than Bjork! Can you imagine Bjork when she's 75 and still singing like "Whoohoo aha, woohoo ahyahooee"?

Are there any thoughts on, Charlemagne Palestine? I would have to ask my father or sister, but I think he was before Reich & Glass. From what I have been told, his was definitely a bloody performance.

actually, I believe Reich was the very first one coming out with "come out" back in '55-'56 and then Palestine came a short time afterwards...

I haven't heard much from the guy, but I did like the album he did with Pan Sonic.

charlemagne palestine is great, but i don't really think he belongs bunched together with reich and glass because a lot (or all? i dont know) of his music lacks one of the key elements in theirs - a steady pulse. its definitely repetitive though..

bjork doesn't really stand up to such a composer as philip glass. while their music reside in fairly similar genres (at least glass's early work), their aestetic (or however it's spelled) is quite different. she knows one trick and embellishes it rather well, but she's hardly one to talk about lazy composing. glass' soundtrack work follows a single theme because that's what soundtracks are: single themes strung together. she doesn't really understand the concept apparently.

but about reich, he's got some great music out there. probably my favorite is called "piano phasing" or something like that. i need to get some of his albums.
