Wilson. How does the Dell have the same amount of memory yet hold twice as many songs? It's not possible unless you have really low quality songs and they are really short. The dell has 20 gigs and so does the iPod so they will hold the exact same amount of music if its the same quality.

well i went to both the Ipod and Dell sites and the Ipod site advertised their 20G as holding 5,000 songs, while the Dell site advertised theirs as holding 10,000. But when i looked further i found any 20G can hold 5,000 mp3 files or 10,000 wma file, which makes me wonder, why doesnt Apple advertise the Ipod as holdin 10,000? DOesnt it support wma files?

I have a smaller player by Rio and it is a decent machine but a dude at my work got an iPod and the thing is 40 Gig for about twice the cost of my Rio which only has 734 mb after formatting...seems like good bang for the buck...the things has loads of photos and music on it. It is essentially a portable hard drive.

do you ever listen to them all at the same time?
I would.
I nearly sported for the Dell Jukebox last week but I had to downgrade my sale and it was the first thing to go. I've never had one. It seems like a good place to start.

maybe next millenium.

It seems to me like the iPod is more about fashion than function. You're paying for the name.

There are other, better players out there for less money. Check out iRiver (www.iriver.com).
