nah, it is too long- 20someoddtracks? idont care how good it is- it already has trouble hangin together the fact that its juste a jumble of singles and b-sides, it loses you at points due to length. The Smiths albums were always great being short and sweet, this is too much for one sitting. smaller portions are always more appetizing.

Just a jumble of singles and B-sides? Just?
How could you?
Anyway, you don't have to listen to the whole thing all at once, you know!

I also like the song 'How Soon Is Now' taken from the 1984 Smith's album 'Hatful of Hollow'. Recorded it from the radio as well as a concert Morrissey did in June this year a few weeks back. Had most of the songs from his new album. i think it was the Green Energy gig in Ireland. Also saw hgighlights from Glastonberry on TV where he did 'Every Day is like a Sunday'. Becoming more interested in his stuff.

1) How can you list Smith's albums in a poll that says "What is Morrissey's Greatest Album?" Johnny Marr wrote all the music, and I think that's extremely disrespectful to the legendary guitarist/song writer.
2) Morrissey's best album, in my opinion, is Viva Hate. The Smith's best album is The Queen Is Dead.

its no disrespect at all. im juste asking the question meaning "What is the best album from Morrissey's catalogue including his career with The Smiths?". im not asking "What is Morrissey's best solo album?" and im not implying that Morrissey writes all the music [which he still doesnt- he doesnt even know how to play an instrument].
people always hav and always will compare Morrissey's solo career to The Smiths, and if anything it ends up becoming disrespectful to Morrissey and his solo collaborators [Street, Reilly, Nevin, Whyte, Boorer, Corbin, Day] as Smiths fans continue to cherish Marr as a saint. nothing against Marr, ilove him and his work, but idont believe that The Smiths were both heads and shoulders above Moz-solo [iplace them evenly actually].

You should clarify. I still read it as saying that all The Smiths album's listed are "Morrissey's" (note the possessiveness) albums, and that's completely untrue. Morrissey's "solo" albums are his, it's considered a solo act and everyone in the band knows that.

The Smiths albums are Morrissey's albums, jointly owned by him and Marr [and Joyce and Rourke to a far lesser degree]. Morrissey performs and writes on all the Smiths albums juste as he does solo. he still performs their material live, he will always hav a claim on The Smiths work.
if someone had wanted to start a thread asking "What is Johnny Marr's best album?" it would include his work with The Smiths, Electronic, The Healers and other projects that he has played a significant/major role- it wouldnt be much of a question though in comparison to the Moz question. its no slight to Marr whatsoever.
