Indie or Avant-Garde films often use a lot of IDMish stuff on soundtracks. I only really know the South African avant-garde movie scene, and I doubt any of the names I give you would be of any help, but if you wanna look really hard. Find Aryan Kaganof. He uses Geez 'n' Gosh on his soundtracks and it's pretty incredible.

Pi is the big one I suppose...

Especially as the concept of the film sits in mathematics.

I was thinking of listing Pi, a very good film indeed.

Geez n' Gosh on a soundtrack? that's funny since Uwe Schmidt has produced so much better material using other pseudonyms...

Funny enough, I only know of Geez 'n' Gosh. They're pretty into them back in Cape Town. I think that the Geez 'n' Gosh track that Aryan used was pretty incredible.

this one seems to have a rather nice soundtrack.
not as cerebral a movie as PI, but worth checking out. especially because of the appearance of certain samantha morton.

and i liked a couple of tracks from the k-pax movie. like, idm-lite (very lite), but nice enough.

if you want to count documentaries, I'd recommend Modulations: Cinema for the Ear...

Koyaniskatsi by Godfrey Reggio with music from Philip Glass could be very appealing to IDM fans.

Same with Baraka from Koyaniskatsi's cinematographer, just that it does have a more commercial aproach.

PI does it too.

baraka?

would that be the one with no plot whatsoever? just some nicely photographed scenes of monkeys, mountains and people doing stuff...?
