yay! someone else who knows/likes Dimuzio!
I wonder if anyone else would even categorize his stuff as "noise"...? is there anyone out there who's even familiar with Tom Dimuzio? I'd say he's definitely not a Masami Akita derivative or wannabe... (which is what most people think of first when you say "noise"... it's always Merzbow Merzbow Merzbow...)
As for my favorite... well, if you know me then you know I have a hard time committing to these things, favorites and labels and such...

Without having to label a "favorite" I would commit to saying that I really rather like id battery (Brandon Labelle & Loren Chase.) Brandon puts me to sleep and/or sometimes makes me laugh when he starts *talking* about his music and what it supposedly does and means... ("...this piece explores the inter-connecting unchangeability of the space-time continuum and all of its relevant counterparts with respect to enchiladas of the demilitarized zone in blah blah blah BLAH..." comeon, Brandon! It's a bunch of clicks and whirs and hums... or a contact microphone taped to your shoe! yeesh! ) That rant aside, I really ENJOY clicks and hums and whirs immensely!... I like to just listen for the aural-sensual experience... the purest of reasons to listen to any music... IMHO...
there are some others I like in the non-Merzbow vein ... John Hudak, Steve Roden, Harry Bertoia, (not really noise... more uhhhh, ambient sculpture...?...) Brutum Fulmen is a little harder and harsher but still different enough than Merzboy...
anyhow, different from Masami is a good thing... some of you should maybe try it...
