Solo Tech.'s

I'm finally becoming proficient in both rhythem improvision and solo improvision but I only know so much about solo's. I have a few notes which (unfortunately) I keep going back to, like instict...so I was basically wondering about any scales, or key notes I should learn. Aside from the standard
e|5-8
b|5-8
g|5-7
d|5-7
a|5-7
E|5-8

yea dude you got the basics

i mean theres alot of shit to soloing and improvising out there, like major keys mior keys and changing keys! all differnet types of scales..............but deffintley right there classic pentatonic is exellent place to start and keep on goin with personlally one of my favorites. works over almost all blues most rock ya no anything minor or power chords ya no? and when you doing sum blues and want to spice it up a litte add in one important(blues note) as they call it
---5-----8----
---5-----8----
---5---7(8)--
---5---7-----
---5(6)7-----
---5-----8---
this little note (in the perrenthesis or whatever ( )<-----those things) it is just one little note but it can say alot about the mood of the solo youre putting out. it is also known as a tritone(actually technically it simply is a tritone thats the thery name and stuff) a tritones is kind of evil and erie and so bad back in the day way back like mideival if a composer or what not played what acidentally or not you get shot.........lol but you hear them all the time now adays. so basically its a great little addition to a pentatonic, it is evil but it fits in beautifly with a pentatonic(with added (blues note) its now called a blues scale) especially when you bend up to it, or down what ever

you can also go higher or lower with the pentatonic, i mean off that cirtain patter its all over the fretbaord. cuz that scale is actually only 5 notes! not including the octave. so experament change patters do what youre fingers like best. and the best way to no what notes not to play, yes to play, what sounds good with what. is try it out, sample all different kinds of music and just jam along with them play this note, maybe that note, train youre ear to recongnize what sounds good, soloing especially improv is half youre ear, you gotta think and know and hear what you wanna play next ya no, not just slapping fingers down on scales you memeroize, wheres the feeling in that! so get out there and make up youre own scale they might have already been made, but if you like it. Play It!
