something wrong with the 3rd album imo is that it goes too radio-friendly, every fan of thrice can tell that it sounds so different from the other albums. The whole vocal thing is not as hardcore as before, it goes too poppy.

When I was into punk To Awake and Avenge The Dead was my favorite song, I also liked the one about burning witches.

Thrice's punkish sound seems unintentional.
The newest album (artist in the ambulance) doesn't sound punk at all.
I'd classify it as Alternative Hard Rock.
But yeah, Thrice Rocks, I've been a fan since I heard the cover of "Send Me An Angel"

Thrice are absolutly amazing. I love the newest album, especially the title track "The Artist In The Ambulance" - that's possibly one of the most amazing songs that they've ever written. Although the first album is pretty cool - but yeah, I'd agree that at TIMES [and only at times, unintentionally as you say...] sounds punk - but since then they've grown and are clearly some kind of hardcore/emo/punk hybrid.
At the end of the day though, genre's are just titles and even though people will argue constantly about who's what type of music, it doesn't effect how amazing they are.

I listened to the song "Under A Killing Moon", as I have the soundtrack for RE2. I didn't really like it, as it sounded somewhat nu-metal-ish to me.
