Reggae Riddims

For years now the rythems on reggae and dancehall songs have turned into their own phenom. Recently, DJ's and some record companies such as VP Records have made compolation CD's of all the "riddims" fronted my different artists. They are big right now between the West Indian and Jamaican community in NYC. Do your research and come back with your favorite ones.

The above should help in your decision.

Thats sort of like dub reggae though isnt it, where they just took the backing tracks and mucked about with them. Scientist, King Tubby or Augustus Pablo are quite famous for it now.

In a way yes but these are actually entire CD's dedicated to one rythem with the vocals of different artists on them and every rythem has its own name as stated form the link.
