Although the Black Eyed Peas are decetly talented i do not believe that they are anywhere close to the phenom talent that was the Fugees. The guy with the dread locks is no Wyclef Jean and the girl could not be farther away from, in my opinion the best female in rap/hip hop/r&b, Lauren Hill. I do not think that B.E.P are trying to imitate but if they are then they are not doing a very good job when it comes to music. I hope they are not, they will reach more success will originality.

I saw BEP once on MTV doing a live version of "where is the love?". It was really poor.
And just compare Lauryn Hill with that Black Eyed Peas girl. It's ridiculous.

I agree with Reycapataz on this one.

its quite unfotunate you think that way, and I respect your opinion of the BEP, but i'll ask you, have you ever actually gone to a show and seen them live? I have, and i must say i was QUITE impressed. They play with a full band, no samples. Fergie can sing, may have been having a bad day on that MTV show i know what youre talking about it the MTV europe awards or something.. i went with an open mind and was very impressed with the show they put on.

Yeah you're right, maybe it was not fair to judge them without actually having seen them live, just because of one performance on MTV. As I think about it, even my favourite rapper Notorious did a really bad job performing live at the '95 Source Awards.
So I take that back.

But I still think that their music isn't very creative.

I urge everyone to check out the older BEP. Before Fergie and before they sold their souls to the record label: "Complete Beloved" "On My Own" "Joints and Jams" I think Elephunk is plain old weak. But that's cause I'm more of a Kweli/Common/Mos Def kinda hip hop fan.

True, many people fail to see the BEP are not new in any sense of the word. But, the fact is that they will never...ever be the Fugees.
