Hmm. I can't really choose between the two. Both have given me endless amounts of inspiration. Both have had killer releases. Both have been around for eons. Both have been responsible (of course not totally!)for the way avant garde electronic music has evolved... so I will just comment on their last albums.

AFX - Analord = Okay, I really like the way this album turned out. The good old feeling of acid is alive once again in this collection of Richard James's work. I really enjoyed this one.

AE - Untilted = I'm not sure if this is their latest album, but its the last one I heard. It's alright... pushing boundaries as usual. I don't know, I didn't really enjoy it as much as I thought I would have. Sometimes I just wish Autechre would go back to their mechanical beats and lulling atmosphere like in Tri-Repetae, but then again progress has to happen somehow.

SCORE: Analord 87 Untilted 72

Heh.

Listened to Solvent with Black Turtleneck

Autechre needs a new fashion imo....Untilted was good, and I did get quite into it, but didnt have the holding power as past albums imo.

I think they're both too different. Either way, Autechre is the clear winner for me.
