Thumbs up Einstürzende Neubauten

''Perpetuum Mobile'' has been delayed for a few weeks . Has anyone got to hear any tracks or samples from it ? I got my hopes up when I saw 'Grundstück' & 'Ich gehe jetzt' samples on http://www.neubauten.org/PM/page1.php . I clicked both and the buffering would not complete . I'm getting a little frustrated here . Anyway , lets discuss Einstürzende Neubauten .

Thumbs up

Nice, neu Neubauten. I didn't even know they were releasing a new album! (There's just too much music to keep up on.)

As for discussing them, I'd say that they're probably my favorite industrial group...Skinny Puppy lags close behind, but no other Industrial band has the sheer dramatic force of Neubauten. More importantly, no other industrial group has Blixa. I don't know what damn fool decided to label Trent Rezner as the paradigm of Industrial frontmen, because Blixa is one of the most distinct personalities of any group ever. Very few vocalists can compare to the tortured wailing and screeching of Blixa -- his voice has been known to literally send chills down my spine! But more importantly, Neubauten has convinced me that all industrial bands should be German. I mean, really, it should just be a rule. (For that matter, they make me wish I knew German -- I think Blixa could sing "the fluffy rabbits like to sing and dance and spread their love and cheer" and it would sound fucking evil as all hell in German! ) But anyway, enough ranting. Neubauten rules and I'll definitely have to check out the neu release.

I've very much enjoyed what I've heard of them, but I am sadly deprived of their music for the most part.

is that cover with Liars on it for real? that's kinda stupid to rip EN's cover off, unless they are really paying tritbute to EN.

well, the early materials are a mixture of rock and industrial tools and metal objects. very harsh and "metallic". their later stuff is more polish but still very dynamic.

Ende Neu would be a good introduction for a beginner, I think. and if you like that, you can go back and pick up Strategies Against Architecture I and Strategies Against Architecture 2.

has anyone seen 1/2 Munch(the hour long video from Mute)? it is awesome.

they are even more fun in concert. I have seen them twice. probably one more time if they tour for the new album.

any hardcore EN fans should check out this movie called Decoder. it is a bit slow at places but it is worth sitting through the whole thing.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087129/

the story line: the film has a very simple story about a man who wants to oppose the ever present muzak in a hamburger restaurant because he has found out the function of that very muzak in the fast food chain restaurant. and he also knows how to stop the muzak!

with a cast like the following, you really should track this movie down.

FM Einheit .... F.M.
William Rice .... Jaeger
Christiane Felscherinow .... Christiana
Britzhold Baron De Belle .... H-Burger Trainer
Matthias Fuchs .... H-Burger Manager
William S. Burroughs .... Old Man
Genesis P-Orridge .... High Priest
Slim Darko .... Pirate
Erwin Lieske .... Pirate
Sabine Bredy .... Pirate
Sigurd Mueller .... Pirate
Matthias Wein .... Pirate
Peter Zoyt .... Pirate
Alexander Hacke .... Pirate (as Alexander von Borsig)
Jeff Moss .... Pirate
