Who is your favorite sound designer of all synth music producers?
Mine is Stefan Betke (POLE)
Props to Brown/Booth and Marcus Schmickler too.

sound design...hmm i'd have to go with the Funcken bros. they produce some of the heaviest emotions through machine funk...which is an interesting combination.
Haidinger of Abfahrt/Gimmik (and Cunningham as well) is quite talented along with mr. Tim Hecker. who could leave out Malcom and Mossholder of Twine..?!
i agree with you on POLE's producer along with the Autechre duo.

oh. i concentrated more on "sound design" part than on "synth".
although, can't remember i've seen any synths when i saw pole playing live, earlier this year.
they're all like, MAX/MSP whatnot geeks.
oh. and vert ist kool, too. he simultaneously played, like, shitload of instruments. synths too.
well. if i had to choose the synth sound designer, it would be brian eno. i wuv his "an ending (ascent)" piece.

Max/Msp is a nightmare..
One day I'll actually be bothered to write something in it.

fennesz uses computers and software which apllies as synths so FENNESZ is a legit and superb choice.
