mm but when it comes to singing flat with range!!!

It's gotta be shane mgowan!!! He has such a cool, lazy, almost flat voice. That it's only when u attempt it yourself it show's his totally unique style.
Not a imense pouges fan, although enjoy some of their stuff.
Definatly a great vocal range,,although that's prob the result's of a few jack daniels!!! [color=Purple]xxx[/COLOR

i must agree, listening to the duet "say say say" with michael jackson, a couple of times paul went from boring monotone to less boring monotone - awesome!!

ill agree with chrisclake on Thom Yorke and Dave Matthews, and I'll add in Serj Tankian from SOAD..

I'll disagree with MM though, as much as I love his stuff.

David McAlmont of 'McAlmont and Butler' (Bernard Butler, Suede) fame has an amazing vocal range. Probably not an amazing range in terms of styles, but yes, well worth a listen.

Also, there's Tiny Tim, but I guess he was just a very very strange falsetto.

gotta second the mention for diamanda galas... heard her some live performance on the radio a while back and i'd never heard a voice stretch so much... not exactly my style of music but regardless... the vocal power and range was definately there... even more than patton
