Jim O'Rourke
And so, to my favourite solo artist of recent times, O'Rourke.
Anyone else around here a fan?
'Eureka' for me is an all time classic, there aren't any albums for me that can stand up to it.
i don't see him mentioned very often on this board, which makes me wonder if many appreciate his work.
And also does anyone here like Blonde Redhead?

actually, I'm very fond of the guy (ever since he was a drummer for Sonic Youth for a short time). I love his solo material on the Mego label. This would probably go better in the experimental or electronic forums because most of his material seems to be in that type of style. His live set "I'm a happy and a singing 1, 2, 3, 4..." is great.

ah finally, i had given up all hope, I knew it was either Seba or you equinox to answer this.
Yeah, he's the official 5th member of Sonic Youth now, which seems logical.
I only posted this in rock as i had no idea where to put him, as he goes from folk to rock to electronica to jazz.... he's more an enigma in the genre side.

Yeah, I agree, so he's back with sonic youth??? hmm...he was back in the early 90's I think for a short time but didn't realize he was back with them. I'm with you, he cracks through the genre boundaries which makes him unclassifiable most of the time.
