To my embarrassment, I just realized that I don't really own a single record that could be classified as garage, short of the recent garage-rock revival material. Anyone care to give me a list of 5-10 essential artists / albums of '60s garage rock? I need to remedy this gaping hole in my collection.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Anything by:

The Music Machine

The Standels

The Remains

Most garage rock is best in compilation form... There are many many many series of garage rock comps...
