Getting into electronic music

First things first I'm aware that other threads have been started with probably the same title. But mines a bit more specific.

I browsed through a couple of the threads in this section with intent to discover some electronic music outside of the Chemical Brothers and stuff like that. I downloaded some squarepusher and aphex twin and heres what I like and don't like.

I really like the varitey of samples these artists use and how a lot of the songs sound nothing alike. But I just felt as if the albums tried to go full throttle at all points. I'm very into chilling out music and the likes, but this music was defintley not made with that in mind. It's defintley good, no dobut about that, but I don't think it's for me. I'm more into stuff with builds even if it's not to anything.

I've also downloaded some Mogwai and I thought that stuff is pretty good.

So here's my problem, I'm searching for some electronic music that just isn't as intense at all times. Oh yeah the Spuarepusher album I downloaded was Hard normal daddy and the aphex twim album is Richard D. James.

Just about anything done by Portishead will probably satisfy your thirst for good 'chilln music'. They are Trip Hop Gods. If you like them you might wanna check out Tricky or maybe some DJ Shadow. Massive Attack is cool too.

I have the Amon Tobin album Bricolage and think its great. I guess another form of electronic stuff I like is stuff with pop elements like that and Air - Moon Safari, although Bricolage and Moon Safari aren't really anything alike.
