Pschomusicology - Classical
What do certain songs make you think about? What colors, images, emotions, etc. comes to mind when you hear specific songs? Feel free to post a song you want to use for this.

Well, this kind of topic scares me.
Most of my musically inspired thoughts are surreal and ineffable to say the least.
This only happens with Classical music:
Sometimes when I half-fall asleep listening to a symphony or piano quintet or something...the music will turn into a little society peopled by these sort of puppet-animated characters in little suits. The people obey the motions of the music and there's a creepy logic to it all...but it doesn't make too much sense outside of the dream. The little people collide into or jump over walls and have heated debates in courtrooms. I only mention this particular phenomenon because it happens a lot. It's like those rare surreal moments in The Brothers Karamazov. There's a section in the book...everytime this civil officer becomes frustrated, he builds a realistic little town out of cardboard pieces. It's really out of place considering how the rest of the book reads...I had to read that part about four times before it sank in.
It only happens in that superficial state of sleep, where you drop something or trip in your dream and then jerk violently, waking yourself up.

I should try that sometime when I'm tired. On several occasions I go to sleep with a song on loop and wkae up with it still on. It has a similar effect, I think it has powerful influence on my dreaming. THis is so gay...
