Almost a toss-up for me between Psychedelic and British Invasion but I chose Brit. Invasion in the end. Two of my top 3 bands (The Who and The Kinks) were distinctly UNpsychedelic while all of my top three were first-wave british invasion bands.

Off of that list I really like Folk-Rock, Kraut Rock (just not the abrasive stuff like Faust and Kraftwerk), and Experimental.

I really hate hard rock, metal, alternative, and dance music.

Since when has Kraftwerk ever been abrasive?

They were probably the most melodic thing to ever come out of the Krautrock scene sans Tangerine Dream...

Well my statement was poorly worded. It should read:
Kraut Rock (just not Kraftwerk and abrasive stuff like Faust)

And I think we have really different tastes - I think Tangerine Dream has a massive catalog of amazingly boring music.

Psychedelia fulfils the music mind expansion and takes me to a level of comprehension and satisfaction far beyond what any other musical genre can do...so that gets the vote for sure.

Blues rock comes second for providing this white brotha with the sublime soul and funk, surf rock third because listening to this music makes a dude believe that life itself is all about no worries, catching a wave, being eternally young and ridiculously good looking and having a hell of a good time. And alternative rock last because dudes...this is the music of today, this is what its all about.

no.

Really the only jam band that developed out of psych would be phish. String Cheese Incident and Widespread Panic both developed out of Bluegrass and acoustic rock. Moe. is mostly influenced by early 90's rock such as Stone Temple Pilots and Nirvana. And Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are mostly bluegrass and jazz.

i too would have said jam, but i voted other.
