i say rockabilly
it's everything. it's the begining of rock, and it's country, and hard rock, and punk, and it sometimes has the horror that metal has.
it's awesome.

I chose singer songwriter. Even though I like all kinds of rockmusic. I searched my collection, and I could find more singer songwriter albums, then anything else. But I also like Rockabilly, and blues rock. Surf is really cool too. Actually, it's hard to choose

Early rock form (although some still record it today), it has many elements of country music and is often rollicking in nature... It has a much more vibrant nature to it compared to regular country music... It's pretty much a pure meld of fast paced older style country and rock...

I think its obvious now to anyone that pays attention to my posts that my favorite genre is industrial rock, so I put other. Should I have made my choice experimental? Is that where industrial Rock belong?

No, not exactly... Rockabilly has few elements of experimentation... While the Dead played country Rock, Rockabilly is a bit different genre all together... It's hillbilly music with a rock structure (and usually a rock style of singing)... Rockabilly has been called a southern fried version of original R&B... Rockabilly pioneer Carl Perkins once described his brand of music as "a country man's song with a black man's rhythm."

What are some of the groups that fall under your discription of Industrial Rock? I would think that Industrial Rock falls into the Alternative genre.

Have you ever heard The Stray Cats? They were part of the Neo-Rockabilly scene in the 80's. The production was much better on The Cat's LP's but the style was pretty much the same.
